Software-Defined Radio-Based 5G Physical Layer Experimental Platform for Highly Mobile Environments

In this study, we developed a 5th generation mobile communication (5G) physical layer (PHY) experimental platform based on software-defined radio (SDR), which makes it easy to customize the transmission and reception process. The consists of an SDR-based transmitter receiver. Digital baseband processing is performed using internal software-based programs. Therefore, can be used evaluate wireless performance 5G (or user-defined modified/customized 5G) not only in laboratory but also any field. addition, as example use platform, proposed signal that receive signals at speeds 500 km/h or higher evaluation by running platform. Through experiments multipath fading environment emulator, was validated. Moreover, confirmed satisfy required block error rate 0.1 even velocity approximately 630 km/h, exceeds requirements 5G. has sufficient resilience high-moving-speed environments. This expected enable simple testing various new PHY technologies.
